Coleridge Way Somerset

Updated: Jul 19, 2019

I have been walking the Coleridge Way in Somerset with my good friend, another Andy.

51 miles from the village of Nether Stowey in Somerset to Lynmouth in Devon we started quite some time ago doing it in 10 mile stages, we use two cars, take one to the furthest point and drive back to the start point.

Today's stage took us from Higher Brockwell to Ash Farm, about 4 miles beyond Porlock and about 10 miles in total.

As with all of this trail it is just lovely scenery and nice walking paths, today we walked about 4.5 miles before we stopped in the village of Porlock for a coffee at the Ship Inn, It has a very nice garden and the other Andy assures me the food is also very good.

Coffee break complete, we continue our walk around the dramatic Porlock Weir climbing up through the trees, the views of the sea visible as we get higher up.

This walk is one of my favourites, we have one stage left to complete the 51 miles, hopefully before the end of August 2019

I finish the day by meeting the family back in Horner Woods area which we passed on our walk this morning, the tea gardens was closed when we walked past it, so I thought I would go back and have lunch with the family, I must say the place was buzzing with people and lunch was very nice, a little expensive but worth it.
